Dr. Donald B. Darling was a leading pediatric radiologist who worked at the Floating Hospital for Children, Tufts Medical Center, from 1961-2006. He was born in Washington D.C. in 1925. Darling received his bachelor's and his MD from Georgetown University before completing postgraduate training at Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C., Georgetown Hospital, Boston City Hospital (now the Boston Medical Center), Children's Hospital in Boston, and the Oak Ridge institute of Nuclear Studies in Knoxville, Tennessee. He took measures to monitor the amount of radiation children were exposed to during X-rays in the 1980s, before many doctors became concerned about such exposure. Dr. Darling died in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 2010.
